We noticed a lot about the leaves, the weather, and found creepy crawlies! We will go back to the dunes in the winter to compare how the dunes looked in fall to winter!

FAMILY and STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

As you might recall, we have collaborated with Fennville and Glen Public Schools to offer family and student mental health support in western Allegan County. Through this collaboration, we’ve partnered with Pine Rest Mental Health Services. Raeylynn Jimenez will be in our area each Monday and Friday to provide support for our community. If you are interested in speaking with her, please call or email Marty [marty.lappe@innocademy.com] to get more information. This service is a great example of what a community can provide when we pool our resources together; please consider using it.

PICTURE DAY – OCTOBER 7TH

Student pictures will be taken on October 7th. Please look for the flyer that was sent home with your child. Contact your child’s teacher for another copy if needed. If you child(ren) attend VAAC, please contact Marty to make arrangements for pictures.

BREAKFAST and LUNCH

Each Thursday from 4:00 – 4:30 at the Fennville Elementary School you can pick up five days worth of breakfast and lunch for your child attending VAAC. Please pull into the circular drive and someone will help you.

IN-PERSON LEARNERS

MASK REMINDERS

For the most part, kids have been doing a great job of wearing their masks appropriately throughout the day! Thank you!

If you wouldn’t mind taking a moment to check with your kiddo on the fit of his/her mask, that would be great! Have them place it on their face as they would do in class. This way you can help with any adjustments so that it fits snugly over their mouth and nose. If you have an extra to throw in their backpack, that would be great – just in case they forget one in the morning or maybe have an incredibly wicked sneeze at some point during the day – or maybe would just enjoy a fresh one to change into later in the day.

STUDENT ILLNESS

Unfortunately, we are entering the season of horrible allergies, colds and flu. If your child is suffering from any of the symptoms, below, that are NOT related to seasonal allergies, they should be kept home until symptoms are no longer present without the use of medication.

  • Cough
  • Runny nose and/or congestion
  • Tired and/or achy
  • Short of breath
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • New loss of taste and or smell

COVID-19 EXECUTIVE ORDER – EFFECTIVE BEGINNING ON MONDAY

Last week Executive Order 2020-185 was signed requiring all Michigan students in grades kindergarten and up to wear protective face masks when in classrooms of schools in Phase 4 of the MI Safe Start Plan. Our younger friends have been doing a great job in building up their stamina for this tweak to all day mask wearing beginning on Monday.
