The Innocademy Difference
While meeting the Michigan State Standards requirements, we go further to open new doors and set students up for success in high school and beyond. We strengthen students’ connection with each other and nature, enriching their education with outdoor learning and social engagements. We also equip them with community awareness to help them develop into engaged, successful citizens both locally and beyond.

Specials
Art
We encourage students to grow creatively, finding inspiration through the exploration of art history, the masters, elements, principles and culture. Students are exposed to art from around the world, emboldened to express themselves and then celebrated as individuals whose work is personal and meaningful.
Physical Education
We help students build the foundation of an active, healthy lifestyle. Through games and sports, we help students develop motor skills and touch on nutrition, strategy and physiology through a caring lens. Students apply personal and social values in their activities while interacting with one another and respecting individual differences.
Outdoor Nature Study
We believe that sometimes, the best learning happens in nature. Our Outdoor Education Specials teacher collaborates with the Outdoor Discovery Center Education Network (ODC) and our general classroom teachers to create hands-on, outdoor educational experiences that connect students with the natural world and what they’re learning in the classroom.
Incorporating Community Opportunities

Growing Community Thinkers
Our goal is to open new doors to help grow critical thinkers and difference-makers. We work to develop a caring and empathetic understanding of the community and beyond. We travel within our community so our students can apply this understanding outside school grounds while deepening their local connections.
Field-Experiences
Our field experiences enhance student achievement by providing hands-on applications of the content they’re learning in the classroom. They also allow them to explore the natural world within our own communities. In the past, students have visited the Fennville library, the dunes of Lake Michigan, Remington Forest, Outdoor Discovery Center and live arts experiences. We offer several school-sponsored fundraising opportunities to help offset expenses.

Outdoor Discovery Center Education Network (ODC)
We’ve developed a sustained partnership with the ODC that supports us in connecting our students’s classroom learning with other people, land and nature. This partnership boosts student achievement and our goal of educating the whole child emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically. Students are able to adventure into nature at the Outdoor Discovery Center and other locations in the area.
To fully participate in these experiences, students must come prepared with proper outdoor clothing, waterproof footwear, skin protection, etc. as the weather dictates. We encourage students to keep an extra change of clothes at school. Time spent outside can lead to extra wear-and-tear on clothes and other gear, and we recommend thrift shopping, networking with other families, and online marketplaces to get quality gear for outdoor exploration.
