Our elementary students got to enjoy learning about Wetlands at the Outdoor Discovery Center. Young Fives through second grade students learned about the frog life cycle and creatures that live in wetland areas, then the following day they got to see those creatures in their natural habitat. They also got to go fishing! Third and fourth grade students wondered what lives in wetlands, why are wetlands important and how healthy are our local wetlands? Then they got to explore to answer their questions!

FIELD DAY IS HERE!

Students will be leaving the school at 9:00 on their respective days and heading to ODC to spend the morning there for Field Day. Students will be rotating through several stations, eating lunch at ODC, and returning to school at around noon. Please make sure your child brings a water bottle to school and dresses for the weather and activity (students in seventh/eighth grade will be dip netting, so they should wear old clothes/shoes). Finally, we will have student check themselves for ticks when we get back to school, but please make sure you do the same when they get home (see the information below).

TICKS ARE HERE

Students and teachers check for ticks each day after outdoor recess and/or learning. We have found several. Please make sure to check your child each evening as well.

NEWEST MASK INFORMATION – IS ANYTHING CHANGING AT SCHOOL?

Currently, the changes announced late this week do not impact us beyond the adjustments we have already made to our current mask policy.  All staff, teachers, and students will continue to wear masks as before while inside the building, during arrival/dismissal and outside if in a learning situation where kiddos are closely together for 10 minutes or more. Masks are optional during recess times.

We are continuing to engage with health department officials and other schools in our area, but expect to operate with these protocols in place until the end of the school year.
