Break Week!

Students will be on break next week and return on Monday, September 9. In addition, our four day weeks end. When we return, we will have school on Fridays, unless otherwise noted on our calendar.

Have a great break!

Curriculum/Information Night

Please hold September 17 from 4:00 – 5:30. Everything is still in the planning stages but as of now, we will spend some of the time explaining our Family Resource Guide, curriculum, Title funding, and other valuable information  – which doesn’t sound too exciting but worth hearing about, so we’ll do our best to “liven it up a bit.” We also hope to provide child care, translator, and something to eat. If you know of someone with child care or Spanish translator experience that would like to work during this time, please let us know. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 17th!

Breakfast for All

We offer breakfast in the classroom each school morning.  Breakfast is free to all and is a great way to start your child’s day and to give them the fuel they need to learn.

Medical Action Plans

For those families who have a child with a medical concern (ie. Bee allergy, peanut allergy, asthma…) it is important that a copy of their Emergency Action Plan/Asthma Action Plan is on file.  Please complete this document and return them by September 13th.  Thank you!

Volunteering and Background Checks

We love having parent volunteers help us. In fact, we have an immediate need for volunteers to help at the front desk making copies, answering phones/doors, and helping teachers with projects that could be done at the front. (If you’re interested in volunteering for this or any other areas, please see Marty.)

That said, we need to conduct a routine background check on all volunteers. Please complete this form in order for us to do this. (The form can also be found under the Parent section of our website.) Your support is greatly appreciated!

Notifications

We are required to send notification each year informing families of FERPA Rights (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974), Asbestos material, and Pest Management. Attached please find each notification and let Marty know if you have any questions.

Michigan Education Corps/Reading Corps

Parents, we are still looking for a Reading Corp. Interventionist at our school! This is a great way to help students become better readers! If you are interested, visit mieducationcorps.org and fill out the application by September 6th!

School Pictures

Our school pictures this year will be taken on October 2nd. More information will be forthcoming but wanted you to have the date on your calendars.
